An Interview with Dana Coons - 2008 Womens Olympic Marathon TrialsPublished by
Dana Coons was an ACC 10,000m champion at the University of Virginia. Since moving up to the marathon she has posted a 2:38:18 personal best and represented the United States at the 2007 IAAF World Championship in Osaka, Japan. It became clear to me in college that I was more competitive at the 10K than the 5K, and it also became apparent that I was a “rhythm” runner and that my strengths were my patience and ability to focus for longer periods of time, not so much my physical speed.
