Atlanta, Austin, Chattanooga and Orlando Bid to Host the 2020 Olympic Team Marathon TrialsBy Adam Kopet USATF announced the four cities Friday that are bidding to host the U.S. Olympic Team Marathon Trials. The four cities are: Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Orlando, Florida. Final bids are due March 19. A USATF site selection committee will evaluate and assess each bid and the USATF Board of Directors will make the final selection, subject to approval by the U.S. Olympic Committee. USATF plans to announce the host this spring. The Atlanta Track Club, the organizer behind the Atlanta bid, distributed a press release highlighting the fact Atlanta is the last American city to host an Olympic Games. All four cities lobbying for bids for the Marathon Trials would expect to host the event in early 2020. More news |
